Complaints Already Coming in About Just Cause 3 Performance Issues
NX Gamer reports that playing the Xbox One version of the game for over an hour results in load times of more than fifteen minutes, frame rates as low as 17fps, and various AI and physics glitches. That’s a serious problem for an open-world action game that’s easy to get lost in. “[Developer] Avalanche clearly felt no need to adjust GPU-intensive elements such as shadow quality-in this respect, both look equivalent to the high setting on the PC game”. Still, if you just want to blow stuff up, Just Cause 3 will let you do that.

Additionally, slow-downs commonly seen in old NES and Super-NES console games have been reported.
Just Cause 3 is out today, bringing the third instalment of Rico Rodriguez’ over-the-top action antics to your consoles and PC.
The analysis was performed with the Day One patch downloaded and while not connected to online servers due this test taking place before the game’s launch.
The website added that the problem is indeed worse on Microsoft’s system, as Sony’s is able to handle the game’s performance. Furthermore, they listed complaints on extremely extended load screen time (the longest recorded one clocked out at a staggering 15 minutes).
According to Forbes, these problems sound like the effects of memory leaks and other optimization options, given that current games are already digital and are not dependent on discs for content.
Comparisons of the Xbox One and PS4 versions of the game have also revealed that explosions lead to drops in frame rates.

Loading times, however, are way shorter in the PS4 than in the Xbox One version at a mere 30-120 seconds or so. It releases tomorrow, Dec 1st, to kick off the season of “lock yourself in your room and play games to ignore your relatives” (wait, is that only at my house?) It is selling at $59.99, currently, for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. NX Gamer discovered these errors on the Xbox One, and it appears these radical issues remain (mostly) only on the Xbox One.
