Concerns in GOP over Trump’s verbal attacks on federal judge

Trump will help turn House GOP ideas into law, Ryan said, in a way that a President Hillary Clinton would not.

Later in the day, Clinton, the likely Democratic nominee, said Trump “has gone so far as to insult and attack a distinguished federal judge, a man who was appointed on his merits, a man born in IN, which last time I checked was part of America, to two Mexican parents, who is presiding now, the judge is, over a lawsuit pointing out how fraudulent Trump University is”. This is false. “My dad used to say, ‘If you’re not a part of the solution, you’re a part of the problem, ‘ ” Ryan said in March.

Trump’s penchant for controversial comments, however, will challenge Ryan to keep the focus on this agenda, which the speaker says can serve as the foundation of the party’s platform going into November’s elections.

“I mean, to be honest, we’ve spoken about it very briefly”.

“It’s no secret that he and I have our differences”, he wrote in the Gazette. I’m sure it’s heartening to pretend that you still hold a winning hand when in fact you are about to fold. While Trump may have always appealed to those who support him for “telling it like it is” (i.e. being overtly bigoted) his know-nothing rhetorical evasiveness left unsettling gaps in his reasoning that are now being more fully enunciated.

Trump has no more competition for the GOP nomination, but he does have significant issues with the most senior elected members of the party he hopes to lead. McConnell on the Trump train that’s been careening down the tracks, energizing many and maybe scaring even more.

“This African American gets up and, man, he slugged these guys”, Trump said, as the crowd cheered.

When Trump announced in December his proposal to ban all Muslims from immigrating to the United States, Ryan condemned the candidate’s comments.

Few politicians in memory have so powerfully tapped into and expressed the conservative id, which has long yearned for a Republican politician willing to heap the verbal abuse on the Clintons and, especially, on the media that they so manifestly deserve. “What was proposed … is not what this party stands for, and more importantly it’s not what this country stands for”. Most Republicans in Congress have followed Ryan’s plan to reduce the cost of the popular programs, which are contributing to the national debt.

The day before, House Speaker Ryan ended an extraordinary public split by endorsing Trump in a column published in his hometown newspaper. All President Donald Trump will have to do is sign them.

Fortunately for our party, Trump is a nominee unlike anything we have ever seen. He also insisted he made no “deals” with the NY businessman in exchange for his endorsement.

Saturday afternoon, Trump replied to Gonzales’ op-ed. One by one, he picked off the best and brightest the Republican establishment had to offer and motivated more people to go to the polls in the primary. Ryan tweeted a link to that op-ed Thursday afternoon just minutes after Hillary Clinton had begun a much-hyped and much-covered speech savaging Trump on his alleged lack of foreign policy vision or credentials.

All of us-not government-should have the biggest role to play in our lives.

“Quite simply, she represents all that our agenda aims to fix”.

But now Republicans are hoping that supporting Trump is like breaking the speed limit – if everyone does it, nobody will ultimately get busted.

So far, Trump has refused, reiterating in interviews broadcast Sunday that U.S. District Judge Gonzalo Curiel’s Mexican heritage means he can not ensure a fair trial involving a billionaire who wants to build a border wall to keep people from illegally entering the United States from Mexico.
