Confident Clinton Taunts Little Trump
She criticized Trump throughout her almost hour-long speech, describing him as a self-absorbed and unstable candidate that is in contrast to America’s need for a level-headed and compassionate leader.

“No wonder people are anxious and looking for reassurance – looking for steady leadership”, she will say.
“He wants to divide us – from the rest of the world, and from each other”.
When asked why he would be voting for Donald Trump, one protester noted that, as he spent “time talking to Trump supporters, we agree on a lot of the major issues that we’re facing in this country”.
And so I smiled when she got to the most authentic part of her speech, that time when she parsed the meaning of public service. “And most importantly don’t believe anyone who says, ‘I alone can fix it, ‘” she said, in a nod to Trump’s convention speech last week. Her speech on Thursday is a flawless opportunity to explain why they should vote for her.
Ms Clinton was quick to thank Bernie Sanders, the man who opposed her in the race to become Democratic nominee.
Calling former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg “little”, Trump said Bloomberg, a fellow billionaire, didn’t “have the guts” for a presidential run and “knows nothing about me. A bold agenda to improve the lives of people across our country – to keep you safe, to get you good jobs, and to give your kids the opportunities they deserve”.
Division aside, Thursday will be a historic night for Clinton. The Republican message of fear focused on terrorism, job security, crime, a sense of America in decline, and its borders unprotected. “We will surge our intelligence so that we detect and prevent attacks before they happen”. “And now, we have nominated our first woman to be president at a convention run by an African-American woman”.
Waving a sheaf of papers, Hillary Clinton undercut McRae’s criticism of the Clinton administration by pointing to his past praise of the governor. “She always feels there isn’t a moment to lose because she knows for that mother, for that family there isn’t”, she said.
After those conversations, Hillary Clinton went right to work.

It was a direct contrast to her 2008 campaign against President Obama, where Clinton largely avoided addressing the legacy of her candidacy – up until the end, when she famously declared there were now “18 million cracks” in the glass ceiling. The newly-minted Democratic nominee told the watching world just what America’s future with a female president will be like – and how there may not BE a future if Donald Trump is in charge!
