Confirmed: Calista Flockhart WILL return to The CW’s ‘Supergirl’
She had suggested that she’d prefer to stay in L.A. if the show moved, but once it did, people “in the know” still claimed that she’d be sticking with Supergirl in its new season. I hear she flies tomorrow to Vancouver where production starts next week.

Calista Flockhart will return for Supergirl season 2 as Cat Grant – but not as a series regular. I hear Flockhart would do as many scenes as she could by commuting back and forth, likely banking material for multiple episodes in one trip north. I hear she would be paid per her original series-regular contract.
The move in Supergirl’s filming locaion was down to Supergirl switching networks, going from CBS to the CW. For what it’s worth, though, it sounds like the show is willing to work with Flockhart however possible for her appearances, as executive producer Andrew Kreisberg said in a statement that the actress has agreed to return for episodes “when she can”, according to Deadline. “We and the audience love to see her on screen”.

The Season 2 premiere of “Supergirl” will take place on Monday, October 10 at 8.00pm on The CW. Earlier on in the season, we weren’t the biggest Cat fan since she felt way too much like a Meryl Streep – “The Devil Wears Prada” clone. She was definitely a highlight of the show. Do you think Flockhart’s shift to a recurring player will affect the series’ in the long run?
