Confusion in Pakistan after ODI series loss to England
Australia, which scripted a 4-1 series win over Sri Lanka, saw Aaron Finch and George Bailey move up two and three places, respectively.

The home side had restricted Pakistan to a short-looking 247-8 off their 50 overs on a good looking pitch at Headingley, but met with a rejuvenated opponent in the field and had to wait until the penultimate over to seal a four-wicket win that put them 4-0 up in the five-match Royal London series.
Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Irfan has been ruled out of the remainder of the tour of England, the Pakistan Cricket Board announced yesterday.
The ODI series will be followed by a T20 match between Pakistan and England. This will be the ODI debut for Liam Dawson. Both batsmen targeted Liam Dawson, smacking the left-arm spinner for 41 runs in his first four overs which took the game away from England.
“I got a few 80s (against England) so that will really help my confidence”.
“I want to give guys opportunities and then we’ll know by the end of the tour who we can and can’t take forward”.
Morgan, though, remained heartened by England’s commitment to an aggressive approach in ODI cricket since their World Cup debacle.
“No regrets about the team – it was an opportunity to get Liam Dawson on the worldwide stage, it was important looking ahead to the winter, in case we go to three spinners, that he had a game under his belt”, Morgan said. But when we are off, it is important other guys fall in behind and today proved that.
Ben Stokes, hitting an ODI-best score of 75, and Jason Roy, whose 87 from 89 deliveries was his second half-century of the series, provided the bulk of England’s runs.
England piled up 3-444 in the third match in Nottingham, a world record one-day worldwide total. But Pakistan pegged them back with Hasan Ali taking an ODI best 4 for 60 and Mohammad Amir picking up 3 for 50.
Pakistan’s captain Azhar Ali called correctly at the toss and chose to bowl on an overcast morning in Cardiff. Rest of the batsmen could not do much to wonder Pakistan.
England sealed the series by winning the third match at Nottingham by a whooping 169 runs and went on to win the fourth ODI by four wickets at Leed’s.
Since Muhammad Irfan has returned Pakistan after he received injury in last match, Muhammad Amir is most likely to place him in fifth ODI.
“If we can get two (more) wickets it will be a different ball game”.
The lively Hasan then dismissed Joe Root for nine when the batsman inside-edged an attempted drive on to his stumps. Their resurgence since their dismal performance in the ICC 2015 World Cup has been spectacular with skipper Eoin Morgan calling the recent thrashing of Pakistan “outstanding”.
After several minutes’ treatment, Stokes batted on before he flicked Hasan to Gul at short fine leg.

JONNY BAIRSTOW admits he will be “desperately disappointed” if he does not get the nod from England in their final Royal London Series one-day worldwide with Pakistan at Cardiff’s SWALEC Stadium tomorrow.
