“Thank you very much for your continued support and faith”.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is on a two-day visit to the United Arab Emirates, tweeted: “MP civic poll results are gladdening”.

The BJP today swept the latest round of civic elections in Madhya Pradesh, prompting a re-energised Shivraj Singh Chouhan and his supporters to decry the Vyapam scam as media hype and Congress defamation. Talking to mediapersons, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said in Bhopal that people of the state have given extraordinary and clear mandate.

“We removed the BIMARU tag from Madhya Pradesh”, he said. “The sooner opposition realises it, the better”, Chouhan said in another tweet.

BJP’s Mukesh Tandon won from the Vidisha municipal corporation.

Singh also alleged that many docs in MP have gotten jobs after greasing the palms of authorities and held the BJP authorities within the state chargeable for it. Elections in the aforementioned 10 municipal bodies could not be held then due to various reasons.

“BJP national president Amit Shah has congratulated the people of Madhya Pradesh, all party office-bearers and the Chief Minister for the impressive victory”. Congress on the other hand said, “utter misuse of administrative machinery led to BJP’s victory in the civic polls”.
