Congress MPs step up attack on Modi for ‘Italian’ remark

Addressing an election rally, Gandhi used the same platform here to hit back at the Prime Minister who had raked up her Italian connections while mounting a veiled attack on the AugustaWestland chopper deal only a day ago. I came to India in 1968 as the daughter-in-law of Indira Gandhi. Yes, I have spent 48 years of my life in India. “It will be here that I will breathe my last and my ashes will be mingled with my loved ones here”. “I can not expect Modi to understand my feelings, but not you”, she said. They never favoured any progressive developmental programmes of the UDF government in the state. He said if Modi wanted to say something on the issue, he should have spoken during the debate and not outside Parliament when it is in session.

Mr Kejriwal had said that Congress and BJP possessed “secrets” about each other.

“The Italian Court order also has names of Sonia Gandhi, Ahmed Patel, certain officers, and Congressmen, but Modi is not able to gather enough courage to arrest Sonia Gandhi, to ask her even two questions, to interrogate her”, said Kejriwal.

Earlier at a rally organized by the Aam Aadmi Party on Saturday, Kejriwal said, “Together, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress let corruption thrive”.

“Modi is a better actor than Amitabh Bachchan”, he said. A few Congressmen, however, got their clothes torn or dirtied during the ordeal that they themselves were responsible for as they tried with all the force at their command to make their presence felt before Sonia and Rahul, but were pushed away by the SPG and the security personnel. “It has done everything to prevent the success of this government, but failed”, she said.

Escalating the war of words, Congress leader Anand Sharma said the Prime Minister’s remarks in or outside the House are “as Prime Minister of the country and there can not be any distinction between them”. But what action has he taken against Vadra in the last two years? We shall not bow down to their pressure.

Noting that his government has taken steps to end corruption, Modi argued that not a single charge had been levelled against his dispensation in Delhi, which is about to complete two years in office.

“Modi did not speak like a Prime Minister”.

“LDF believes in violence and destruction”.

Kejriwal, in the protest, also asks PM Modi to apologize for the nation for these wrong degrees mentioned by him, and says that we want an Honest PM.
