Conor McGregor earned a record-breaking pay day at UFC 202
The big question on everyone’s mind following Conor McGregor’s win over Nate Diaz at UFC 202 is what’s next for the Irish superstar. The UFC has already declared Conor would go back down to 145 and defend his featherweight title. What’s next for the UFC featherweight champion?

Let’s take a moment to put that into perspective: Nate Diaz made the third-highest disclosed purse in UFC history.
Aldo wasn’t given an automatic rematch for the belt that he held for five years.
Following the fight, Jose Aldo, who was defeated by McGregor in 13 seconds in December previous year in a featherweight bout, tweeted: “Where you at @TheNotoriousMMA?”. This was the first time in his UFC career that the Irishman was fighting past the third round, but he did not let that bother him. “Last night I watched it”. It was a decision, he didn’t go out and get it. But I don’t think it’s a very good business move for him to be taking any other fights.
“I proved the class difference but that toughness and durability crept in the later rounds”, said McGregor.
“He keeps on walking forward, he took every shot I dropped on him – he just kept coming forward”. Some might not be this sport, so we’ll see. They said I was done and it certainly lit a fire under me.
UFC president Dana White told SportsCenter afterward that a potential trilogy fight could be complicated by McGregor’s featherweight title. As expected, he was able to cut Diaz, and Diaz was affected by blood in the eyes throughout the second half of the fight. The majority decision victory gave McGregor (20-3) the revenge he’s been after since tapping out to Diaz (19-11) in March at UFC 196.
“So we’ve got a lot to talk about”.
“I thought I won that fight”, countered Diaz. Give me that fight. “Cowboy” believes that that will lead to even more trash talk from the Irishman, who was slightly calmer and more collected than usual leading up to his rematch against Diaz.

Fans would love to see a third fight against Nate Diaz and it seems to be the best option for Conor McGregor.
