Conor McGregor Knocks Out Jose Aldo with First Punch at UFC 194

Conor McGregor’s UFC win over Jose Aldo is expected to earn him more money per second than any fighter in the company’s history.

Speaking for the first time since dropping his belt, recently dethroned featherweight champion Jose Aldo sat down for an interview with Brazilian media outlet Combate to give his take on his 13-second knockout loss to Conor McGregor at UFC 194 this past weekend.

And speaking at the post-fight press conference, McGregor added: “If they offer me Croke Park, or if they offer me the football [Aviva] stadium, you’re damn right I’m gonna take it”.

He said: “All through the week I’m watching videos of the Irish going insane throughout Las Vegas… the Irish fans, you can’t beat them”. “And then he loaded, I pulled, banged the left hand; It was clean: no power, no push, just pop. Precision, timing”.

After 10 years as the unbeaten pound for pound king of the UFC, Aldo took the defeat badly and was visibly upset.

McGregor predicted some of his record-breaking exploits as well, he said he would create the new pay-per-view record for the promotion and he has.

Even if his chance at redemption doesn’t come as soon as he might hope, Aldo expressed his confidence that he would one day gain revenge over the man who ended his lengthy stranglehold on the UFC featherweight division. “We need a rematch”. “If he makes that walk, if I see him inside the Octagon, every single movement I make, I will get an over-reaction out of him because he is emotionally invested”.

McGregor has always had aspirations to fight at lightweight, but his coach, John Kavanagh, wants him to move up due to the severity of the weight cut. His talking didn’t effect me at all, I really don’t care what he says. White told ESPN that Conor could have an immediate lightweight title shot against the victor of next week’s Rafael Dos Anjos vs. Donald Cerrone fight, but that would result in a Frankie Edgar vs. Jose Aldo fight for the vacant featherweight title.

‘At 27 years of age I stand here as the unified world champion with back-to-back gate records at the MGM.

“It wasn’t this time, but we will come out victorious, for sure”, Aldo said.
