Conor McGregor reveals he’s targeting ventures outside of the UFC

The rematch between Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz was a sticky situation for the Dubliner, if he’d lost, his star power may have taken a bit of a battering and the hype train may very well have been derailed.

According to MMA Fighting, McGregor changed his game plan having learned from the first fight, where he steadily paced himself instead of trying to put Diaz away early.

As bold and as fearless as the Irishman is, surely he can’t be serious about that.

At UFC 202, McGregor opened as a -125 favorite and closed at about -135. “Look at Nate’s purse tonight, look at the first fight, look at everyone’s game has gone up money wise and I helped do that”. After giving him two of the toughest fights of his career at UFC 196 and UFC 202 respectively, there is little doubt that McGregor has respect for Diaz.

“It’s hard for me to get excited about that, especially after his last performance”.

“I’m not doing s-t until we go round three”, he said.

Let McGregor keep the featherweight belt, but have Aldo defend his interim title against Max Holloway. “What would that do to the division if the guy I KO’d in 13 seconds is the unified champion, so we’ve got a lot to talk about”, McGregor said.

“Yeah, I watched the fight”. Conor normally fights at 145 and swelled to 168 to fight Diaz. “He was scared to engage, I think they should have taken points for that”.

Despite his success at 170 pounds, Cerrone said he wants a rematch with lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez (who he beat by unanimous decision at UFC 178) at the UFC debut event in New York City at Madison Square Garden in November. If they want to set it up as soon as possible, let’s do it.

When informed of those comments when seated with the media following the event, McGregor questioned how the UFC could consider such a thing.
