Conor McGregor ‘smashes UFC record’ for money earned per second during Jose
Outspoken Irishman Conor McGregor backed up his bravado on Saturday night’s UFC 194 with a sensational TKO of Jose Aldo at Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena to claim the UFC Featherweight title.

Even before Conor McGregor delivered his brutal blows to Jose Aldo in Saturday night’s UFC featherweight title fight, his fans showed they could throw a few punches of their own.
Aside from Aldo, there is only one other challenger that poses a realistic threat to McGregor at this point, so a rematch with Aldo that hopefully lasts longer is likely.
At the time Rousey got knocked out by Holly Holm in mid-November, there wasn’t another UFC fighter in the same conversation with her in terms of national popularity.
“The options are there now”, said McGregor.
McGregor said after the fight he’s proud of all of the records he was part of this week.
The Irish fighter clearly knew his way with words and also in the ring.
The fight was originally scheduled at UFC 189 in July before but Aldo withdrew with a rib injury. The Brazilian came in hard for an over the top haymaker which McGregor read perfectly and his cross counter hit Aldo square on the jaw, knocking the former champion out before hit the floor.
“I was upset with myself at the time, because of the way it happened”, Aldo (19-2 MMA, 7-0 UFC) explained of his reaction.
With that, McGregor would be fighting for another championship title and would probably face the victor of Donald Cerrone vs Rafael Dos Anjos this coming week on “UFC on Fox 17”.
In particular, he is looking to beat the record set by Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather in their May 2, 2015 bout – which is the richest fight in the history of boxing.
“You can be sure that we will come back stronger, more champion than I was before”.
“We need the rematch because that was not a fight, so we need to get back in here”. “But I think it’s too soon to talk”, Aldo said. If I move to the lightweight division, there’s no way in hell I’m vacating that belt; that’s not happening.

“It wasn’t this time, but for sure we will come out winners”.
