Conte backs Costa for ignoring Swans’ fouls
Cahill was fuming after referee Andre Marriner failed to spot he was fouled twice by scorer Leroy Fer in the build up to Swansea’s second goal.

Their prospects could be boosted, however, by the absence of Terry, who struggled late on in Chelsea’s 2-2 draw with Swansea City on Sunday.
Shortly after the match an incensed Cahill tweeted a gif of the incident and Marriner’s reaction – later deleted from his account – and the England global laid out his grievances in greater detail when speaking to the media. “Clear, clear foul”, Cahill said.
“I can tell you that Diego Costa, from the first minute to 94 minutes, he took a lot of kicks”, Conte told Sky Sports. We tried to come back, we got to 2-2, and we had chances to get the third goal.
“Defenders know him, and sometimes they try to provoke him”.
Nine minutes from the end Costa, who also received his third yellow card in four games, equalised with an overhead scissors kick that might have been penalised for risky play.
Chelsea’s Diego Costa, right, celebrates scoring during his team’s English Premier League soccer match against Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium, Swansea, Wales, Sunday, Sept. 11, 2016.
“It’s hard to talk about the game because today we lost two points”.
With the players preparing to face Liverpool, let’s look at how they rated against Swansea. “The defender deserved a second yellow card”, said Conte. It’s incredible. I said to the referee there’s three of you that can see that.
Costa took his season’s tally to six goals in five appearances for club and country but his two at the Liberty Stadium were not enough to prevent Conte shedding his first points as Chelsea manager.
The Blues are next in action on Friday when they host Liverpool (20:00 BST kick-off). I think there is a great mistake, a great mistake of the referee.
Cahill’s central-defensive partner, John Terry, posted the following image on Instagram, of Swansea defender Jordi Amat holding him in the penalty area.
“We were dominating the game, leading 1-0, and in only two minutes we were losing”. I should have waited three minutes.

“I apologised in the dressing room”, said Guidolin.
