Conte drops Diego Costa from Chelsea squad amid conflict, China offer

Antonio Conte will hope his Chelsea team have gotten over the disappointment of their 13-match Premier League run ending and beat Leicester City to strengthen their grip on the title.

“Now it’s important to continue to work very well together”.

“I don’t think he’d think twice”. We won six matches and to do that, especially in December, is very hard.

After last season’s debacle under Jose Mourinho, it seemed as if the Italian had steadied the ship. “He’s a very good player”. Let us know in the comments section below!

“We have two targets now”.

The west Londoners won’t fancy replacing the player who’s been a beacon in guiding them to the Premier League perch already this season, but China’s market influence could once again threaten to derail their plans.

Although he has improved his form with five goals in 12 matches for Swansea this season, he is not the man to replace Costa should the striker ends up exiting the club.

“Leicester played the group stages in the Champions League in a fantastic way”, he added. It’s a great achievement for them.

Following last season’s incredible title win, Leicester sit six points above the relegation zone in what is shaping up to be a hugely underwhelming defence of their crown.

With Costa out, Conte may opt to stick with Michy Batshuayi up front after he scored in the win over Peterborough last weekend while John Terry is suspended following his dismissal in the FA Cup. But it can happen, this, in this league.

There is certainly a feeling that Chelsea bottomed-out last term.

Conte also had kind words for his opposite number Ranieri, revealing his compatriot had helped him settle into life in England. A successful loan spell at Bournemouth for Dutch defender Nathan Ake has seen Conte recall the youngster, giving him additional options in the backline. “I have to check a couple of situations and then decide”, he said.

But, with the money on offer, that could be easier said than done.
