Conte: I won’t ask Costa to change his ways

Antonio Conte is doing well so far but his biggest challenge will be Liverpool, who will visit Stamford Bridge tomorrow.

Klopp appreciates the similarities, but it is Conte’s achievements with Juventus and Italy, rather than his conduct in front of the dug-outs, that have won him the German’s admiration.

“Of course I’ve got a huge Liverpool connection and Liverpool is in my heart and always will be but there’s nothing to really comment on”. Obviously he is involved in the game, but that’s not the most important thing.

“I think Costa is a very emotional player”, he continued.

Going into Friday’s clash, Liverpool beat reigning champions Leicester City 4-1, while Chelsea were forced to a 2-2 draw by Swansea.

Chelsea saw their flawless start to the campaign ended by a 2-2 draw at Swansea City in which they went 1-0 up, fell 2-1 down and then rescued a point through Diego Costa’s acrobatic 81st-minute equaliser.

But Chelsea winger Victor Moses is convinced that Conte’s off-pitch adjustments have set the club on the right path.

Gary Cahill argued eloquently that he was blatantly fouled twice by Leory Fer in the build-up to Swansea’s second goal but looks in for a torrid time against electric pace of this nature while one or two errors have started to creep into the game of the formally formidable goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois. We know David is a good player and we are working to put him in the best condition to give us the best of him.

Stamford Bridge was the scene of Klopp’s first Premier League victory on October 31 previous year when Liverpool came from a goal down to win 3-1.

If the teams’ last encounter, in a pre-season friendly in the United States, is anything to go by, Friday’s game beneath the floodlights could be a spicy affair.

He also dismissed suggestions midfielder Cesc Fabregas could be sold in the next transfer window.

It could also be spectacular. “We know Liverpool are a very strong team”.

Luiz will feature from the start against Liverpool, though, with John Terry unavailable due to an ankle injury. At the same time, he wants to win and that is what makes him the player hie is today, if you take that from him he won’t be the same Costa.
