Conte refuses to guarantee Fabregas Chelsea spot after Leicester double

I am focused on winning and playing well when I have the chance to show what I can do. It’s too early to know whether I will start or not.

A cup half full – Antonio Conte was predictably happy to take the positives after Chelsea’s 4-2 win against Leicester City in the third round of the EFL Cup.

Captain Gary Cahill headed home a Fabregas corner in first-half stoppage time before Cesar Azpilicueta – who tried in vain to hack both Okazaki goals off the line – elevated a pulsating match further with a spectacular long-range volley in the 49th minute.

Conte praised the Spain global for his work behind the scenes in improving his defensive contribution after the match, while Fabregas hopes a demonstration of his more widely celebrated attacking talents has made a compelling case ahead of Saturday’s game against his former club Arsenal.

“I’m very happy to be at Leicester City and in the Champions League”, Amartey told LCFC TV HD.

Fans in the 100PercentChelsea clip were unanimous in their response with one saying “he’s going to tear s*** up against Arsenal” in the Premier League grudge match.

“For Matic, who is the opposite of me, he wants him to be better offensively”. “I’m pleased for him, because in the games when he didn’t start in the line-up he always had a great attitude”.

“I know when I have to press, I choose much better my game overall”.

But the second half soon turned in Chelsea’s favour, as the Blues dominated the Foxes, creating a number of goalscoring opportunities which weren’t capitalized particularly by Diego Costa.

“The second key was when Wasilewski was sent off”.

Fabregas’ quickfire double ended Leicester’s EFL Cup hopes after Okazaki had put them 2-0 ahead inside the opening 35 minutes with his first goals since March.

“For this reason I say thank you to Jamie Vardy and his family, and to Riyad when they made a decision to stay here”.

“This is very important because it showed the will to win and to go into the next round”.

“We started the game sloppy, so sloppy”, said the England centre-back. “Maybe more important for us than Chelsea, as they have so many defensive midfielders”.

“I think the key was when we conceded a goal on the last corner of the half, we lost two risky men, Luiz and Cahill”.
