Conte: Terry return between him and Allardyce

“I’m a former global team coach so I know this situation and prefer it to be solved between Sam Allardyce and John Terry – that’s the right way”, Goal.com quotes Conte as saying.

He begins his tenure with a 2018 World Cup qualifying match against Slovakia in Trnava on September 4 and will name his first squad on Sunday.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has given his blessing to John Terry regarding a potential return to worldwide football.

The newly installed England boss admits that the Chelsea defender, who announced his retirement from global football in 2012, could have a place in the squad should he come out of retirement. But until I come to that selection or that process, we’ll wait and see.

“I could say “go and play for the Under 21s” get used to worldwide football there and that will help you eventually break into the Manchester United team and eventually the England team”.

“If it’s a short period of time, maybe not – they come back in the team and everything goes fine”.

But Leboeuf thinks there needs to be a changing of the guard at Stamford Bridge, and believes his old side need to pull the plug on John Terry’s career.

Guardiola has expressed reservations about Hart’s passing ability and Allardyce said he would speak to the City manager about the matter.

Another City player fully expected to be involved in recent signing John Stones, with the centre-back having started all three games since joining from Everton earlier in the month. Wayne Rooney can still play up front if you wanted him to.

“Potential is something that’s going to be great in the future”, Allardyce said of Stones, 22.

Terry was out of contract at the end of last campaign but was handed a one-year renewal to take him into his 19th season with the club.

“It’s a compliment that Chelsea played a strong side and rightly so – they’re not in Europe”, Clarke said.

He was included in Roy Hodgson’s Euro 2016 squad despite only making 18 appearances for Man United last season and surprised fans with his sensational arrival.

Asked to explain England’s recurrent failings at major tournaments, Allardyce said the collective problem was “psychological”. We are trying to find the right solution to improve this team.
