Conte would have no hesitation starting in-form Batshuayi against Burnley

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has not ruled out adding to his squad after bringing in midfielder N’Golo Kante and striker Michy Batshuayi for a combined fee of over £60 million.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is a happy man, having watched his team cruise to a 3-0 victory over Burnley at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

The Belgian endured a season to forget last term, going nearly a year without a league goal as the Blues finished 10th in a miserable defence of their Premier League crown.

“You don’t have to look too far beyond the amount of these clubs spend on players and then if you spend enough you’re going to get some very high quality footballers. He is an important young player with great improvements that he can make in the future”.

However, he insisted that he has no problems in working with the current group of players he has at his disposal for the rest of the season.

Hazard picked the ball up just inside his own half and charged forwards before stepping inside Michael Keane and curling a shot past Burnley goalkeeper Tom Heaton.

“I think it’s a pity that now there is this break because I think that after three wins, I wanted to continue playing games”, he said. “It’s 11 versus 11 so it will be a hard game for us, but the most important thing is to work hard together as a team”. “But we must think to work, to improve every day. They are very solid in defensive situations and they are always waiting to go on the counter-attack with two very good forwards”. “To start in a good way is good for me”.

“In this game we started well and played good football the whole game, but we know we can improve and we must improve”. According to the Chelsea manager, the player is a vital addition to the squad, but will not be the first or the second choice stopper. “We didn’t perform well in the first half and you can not do that”.

There will be far tougher tests to come for Conte and Hazard, as proved by the space the Belgian was afforded for his early goal, but the signs are positive and confidence is flooding back.
