Contract talks may have affected Eriksen’s form, says Pochettino

The Argentine believes it is only a matter of time – perhaps starting with the tricky away trip to Stoke tomorrow – that Kane, who scored 32 goals in all competitions last season, will get off the mark.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino admits Son Heung-min could have left the club this summer but is relieved he held onto him after watching him score twice against Stoke City on Saturday.

Pochettino has revealed new signing Moussa Sissoko could feature at the bet365 Stadium this time around following his deadline-day arrival from Newcastle.

The officials made the right decision to send Mark Hughes off during his side’s 4-0 loss to Tottenham, the Stoke City manager said. “That is where we need to improve this season, to compete better”.

And Harry Kane ended his goal-scoring drought with an easy tap in for his 50th Premier League goal. We will rotate the squad and every player will have the chance to show his quality.

He said: “Our power is not on the financial side, our power is our facilities and the way we play”.

“One thing is to believe and another is to deliver and win games, it was hard and then it was the draw against West Brom at home”.

The Danish playmaker has been at the centre of persistent rumours about his future as Italian clubs AC Milan and Juventus and French Champions Paris St Germain all expressed an interest in signing him.

From set-pieces is the former Ajax ace most devastating, emerging as one of the most lethal free-kick takers in the Premier League.

“He’s in a good condition to travel”, Pochettino told reporters on Thursday. They look well placed to make another run to Champions League places.

Harry Kane has gone five Premier League games without scoring, his longest drought since a six-match spell a year ago.

Kane’s goal, the fourth of the afternoon, was his first in 10 for his club and country, dating back to England’s pre-Euro 2016 friendly win over Turkey in May, and also his 50th in the top flight in just 87 appearances.

Tottenham’s upcoming fixture at Stoke City can’t quite be considered a must-win match, but it’s pretty close.
