Doctson put up these impressive numbers in only three seasons at TCU, where he transferred after playing at Wyoming as a freshman.

Doctson hinted at a possible comeback on his Twitter account Monday night. “Stranger things have happened”.

TCU (8-1) is set to play Kansas on Saturday.

TCU wide receiver Josh Doctson (9) holds his wrist as he is attended to following an injury in the second quarter of an NCAA college football game against Oklahoma State in Stillwater, Okla., Saturday, November 7, 2015.

It has been reported that Josh Doctson, TCU’s leading receiver, will miss the rest of the season.

The school said Thursday that coach Gary Patterson’s comments about Doctson during an interview with SiriusXMCollege were misinterpreted. If the Horned Frogs hope to rebound and still be in the mix for the Big 12 title at season’s end, they need Doctson to make a full and speedy recovery, even if it means sitting him for their Week 11 game against the Kansas Jayhawks.

“Perception becomes reality, and perception isn’t always true”, Patterson said. We don’t care about the noise. Boykin threw a career-worst four interceptions against Oklahoma State while passing for 445 yards. The league was snubbed for a spot in the inaugural four-team playoff past year even when the Frogs were ranked third before a 55-3 win over Iowa State in their regular-season finale.

“To be honest with you, I’m not sure it’s good for the conference that (the schedule is) back-loaded. Because people forget early losses”, Patterson said.

“I think [backloading] hurts conferences”, Patterson said.
