Controversial blogger’s comments have ‘no place’ in Toronto: Mayor John Tory
Montreal Mayor Denis Coderre recently opposed a show in his city, which was cancelled when protesters showed up at the venue before the show.

In his tweets, Tory said the blogger doesn’t reflect the values of Toronto and his comments about women are demeaning and unacceptable.
“I expect much of the same treatment” in Toronto, he writes in a post on his forum, instructing his supporters to monitor social media and infiltrate organizing groups, calling his talk in Montreal a “monumental victory”.
The poster, who was apparently in attendance, said 50 or 60 people had come to hear the talk, but a hotel administrator told Valizadeh at the last minute that the it could not continue, and “Roosh was really bummed about it”.
Valizadeh responded to Mayor Tory on Twitter saying he “doesn’t promote violence, harassment, or hate against any group”.
“Kelly added that “@rooshv’s “take” on life is worthless garbage masquerading as provocative insight”.
Mississauga Mayor Bonnie Crombie is also opposed to Valizadeh’s tour.
Valizadeh is the author of several books, and runs the website ReturnofKings.com which is “meant for a small but vocal collection of men in America today who believe men should be more masculine and women should be feminine”.
One of Valizadeh’s most controversial blog posts, published in February, argues that making rape legal in a private home would eliminate any ambiguity surrounding consent by forcing women to fend off unwanted sexual encounters. I propose that we make the violent taking of a woman not punishable by law when done off public grounds’.
Among them, according to Valizadeh, is the fact that women in the city prefer food to sex and have egos that vastly outstrip their attractiveness.
Organized by Cuntamponary Art Collective, the demonstration assembled at Norman Bethune Square in support of individuals now being harassed online for organizing petitions to prevent the American-whose full name is Daryush Valizadeh-from entering Canada.

A protest is planned for Saturday at Queen’s Park. Or does freedom of speech trump all? “It only works if it includes those whose messages bother you”, one wrote.
