Cop Pulls Driver In Nick Of Time From Oncoming Caltrain

A sheriff’s deputy risked his life to save a motorist after the man crashed his auto into a train crossing guard, moments before a train was due to arrive.

A transit police deputy removed a driver from a vehicle just before it was struck by a northbound Caltrain in Sunnyvale Monday evening, according to a Caltrain spokeswoman.

In a online video media that in fact takes the fall the replacing can be shown yanking the boy out of your auto. They began running until the driver, a man in his 20s, fell to the ground, forcing the officer to drag him by the arm to safety.

“This is what we’re trained to do”, Whitted told KGO.

The incident resulted in delays of up to 45 minutes as trains single-tracked through the area.

The driver appeared to be intoxicated, authorities said, noting the incident is under investigation.

Two nearby deputies who heard the accident, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office, quickly recognized a train was coming and rushed over to assist. “I believe, because they reacted, this person is alive today”.
