Indrani is now in police custody along with ex-husband Sanjeev Khanna and driver Shyam Rai.

Sarkar, who was summoned to Mumbai and grilled by investigators, upon his arrival in the city wondered how his name cropped up in the case which has been hogging headlines ever since Indrani was arrested for the murder of her daughter Sheena.
Indrani, Sanjeev and Shyamrai were produced before the Bandra court on September 5 after which their custody was extended till today. Police are likely to seek an extension of their custody today.
During the over 60-minute quest when the cops and Indrani were at the Mukerjea’s Worli house on Sunday, she was taken to her fourth floor residence.
Sheena was in a relationship with Indrani’s current husband’s son, Rahul (from Peter’s first marriage), police said.
Investigators said the email before the murder was sent from Indrani’s account. Peter Mukerjea, though not an accused, was questioned extensively on Friday at the Khar Police Station for the third day in a row in Sheena murder case.
“They have to recover it from bankers”, he said. Peter Mukherjea is yet to get a clean-chit, as the financial transactions of the couple are being investigated.
The remand application of police stated that the planning to kill Sheena’s brother Mikhail started from Kolkata. The latest is that Indrani Mukerjea, after killing Sheena, applied lipstick to her, combed her hair and even put perfume on the body so that they could evade police in the event of a nakabandi. It will then be indicated that the bones seized by police from Pen area belong to Sheena, and that she was murdered there.
Sheena’s body was recovered on May 23, 2012, but the lid came off the murder after an anonymous tip-off was received by Mumbai police a few weeks ago.
