Head coach Jim Mora confirmed the true freshman is stepping away from the game to follow alternate dreams.

Cordell Broadus has left the UCLA Bruins football team, according to BruinReportOnline. Sondheimer posted on his Twitter page “Never once ranked Cordell Broadus as a top receiver despite all the internet people saying otherwise”. The UCLA Bruins may have seen this coming after Broadus was absent at the fall football camp.
Mora said Broadus will continue to pursue a degree at UCLA.
Someday, maybe soon, we’ll hear Cordell Broadus explain in his own words why he left the UCLA football program. After forgoing his junior season, he took up modeling, returned to his music career, and appeared on Dancing with the Stars. Perhaps his father’s aspirations to play football influenced Broadus’ decision to play during his high school years, but this was not how he wanted to make his mark.
He attended UCLA’s summer session, but then failed to report when the Bruins opened their fall camp in San Bernardino.

It’s not the first time that a celebrity’s son has caused a sort of distraction with UCLA’s football team, though. His father, hip-hop mogul, Sean “Diddy” Combs, allegedly assaulted strength coach Sal Alosi in June, but the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office declined to pursue felony charges.
