He states remaining Republican presidential candidates and fellow Congressional Republicans are attempting to delay President Obama from nominating Justice Anthony Scalia’s replacement on the Supreme Court.

In vowing to block any potential nominee to the Supreme Court this year, Republicans have taken a risk that could pay off in November if they capture the White House and hold the Senate majority.
The Republicans have not prevented Obama from nominating anyone, which is his only authority, while they have exercised their constitutional duty to give the President their “advice”.
McConnell’s plan was viewed much more favorably among Republicans, 69 percent of whom supported leaving Scalia’s seat open, including 55 percent in favor of the senators’ absolutist stance not to consider a nominee at all.
Ayotte campaign manager Jon Kohan called on Hassan to “immediately condemn” the ads and demand that they be taken down, calling it an example of negative attacks from outside groups that he said Hassan has refused to reject.
“I think they will bear some resemblance to a piñata”, said Sen. Iowa Congressman Dave Loebsack has previously said the Senate should move ahead with the nomination process.
Jordan, who would have fit the bill of another Obama appellate nominee who has an engaging personal story, was recently vetted for a federal judgeship and won a large majority in the Senate when confirmed.

Also Monday, Reid met in his Capitol office with Patty Judge, a Democrat and former lieutenant governor of Iowa who just announced she will challenge Grassley this fall.
The 82-year-old senator is widely popular in his home state and at this stage in the race, favored to win another term.
