Coronation Street’s Ryan Thomas to quit the soap

Coronation Street fans had better get ready to say goodbye to Jason Grimshaw because actor Ryan Thomas is quitting the cobbles. To be part of it for therefore long has been an awesome experience.

The actor, who plays builder Jason Grimshaw, has been part of the series for 15 years.

Ryan added: “I’m just excited now to see what exit storyline the writers give Jason”. “We wish him each achievement when he proceeds onward one year from now and we value his longing to attempt new things”, Blackburn said.

After ITV confirmed the departure, producer Stuart Blackburn paid tribute to the star, whose final scenes will air next summer.

He said: “Going to Hollywood is a dream so I’m going to see what happens”. I’ve been on the show for 15 years now.

Ryan is hoping that quitting Corrie will lead to other roles – preferably outside Manchester.

“We can always dream”.

Ryan is believed to have earned around £90,000 a year for his role in Corrie but was declared bankrupt in 2013 over an unpaid tax bill of £40,000.
