But the reality is that Windows 10 is not the only service that’s keeping tabs of what you do and where you are.
But snooping by technology companies is not limited to Microsoft; Apple and Google collect data as and when they please and ask users to believe that it is for their own good. Those users have made a conscious choice to stay on Windows 7 or Windows 8 and are likely to feel that it should be respected.
Additionally Windows 10 Education, Pro and Enterprise editions have a group policy editor option which will allow only “Priority” updates to get downloaded.
Yusuf Mehdi, Microsoft’s vice president of marketing of the corporate division, tweeted in a number of tweets that more than 90,000 different tablets and computers are powered by Windows 10. Microsoft now holds a market share of less than 3% in global smartphone shipments. WMPU describes this experience as the same to that which is available in the messaging app for Windows Phone 7. Windows 7 has been there for quite some time, and Microsoft is also providing support till 2020, so Windows 7 is more established system in the enterprise.
For those who don’t know, Microsoft is now working on it’s first non-patch update for Windows 10, now codenamed Threshold 2 and was originally supposed to launch sometime in October.
Microsoft officials say the company’s goal is to see Windows 10 installed on 1 billion devices by late summer 2018.
Community funded software specialist site gHacks claims Windows 10 “slurps data like there is no tomorrow, especially when systems are set up using the express settings”. It could result in more subscriptions to Office 365.

The Verge commented that while it took six months for Microsoft to get 100 million licenses of Windows 8, it’s clear that the free aspect of Windows 10 is driving higher adoption rates. Among the most prevalent issues were inability to upgrade, inability to access the start menu, screen flickering and flashing, touchpad issues, lags, and page freezes.
