Cortana has connected with LinkedIn on Windows 10

Since there are not many devices out there that you buy that run Windows 10, it is likely that this can be largely attributed to PCs being upgraded for free.

Net Applications’ Windows 10 user share portrait backed up the findings of another analytics developer, Ireland’s StatCounter, which has also portrayed the OS’s growth as slowing after its first month of availability. After that, Windows 10 jumps to its full price of $119 for the Home edition and $199 for the Pro version.

Windows 7 is still in first place with 56.53% of the market, a slight decrease from the 57.67% it held in August.

Microsoft’s aggressive strategy with Windows 10, which has seen its share of criticism, is also driving the Windows 10 market share numbers.

Windows 10 is the fifth most-used operating system on desktop computers right now, says a report from Softpedia, which cites new statistics. Now, unofficial reports suggest that the number is closer to 100 million devices. Announcing their prospective virtual partnership earlier today, Microsoft stated that Cortana in Windows 10 will be able to assist Windows 10 users in scheduling meetings, setting reminders about their schedule on LinkedIn. These apps will now offer more rich information about the people they’re supposed to meet with because Cortana will pull in the required contact information from LinkedIn, provided that the user has connected their account to Cortana.

Windows 10 is clearly growing, but it might do it at a slower pace than initially expected. After Windows 8 officially launched on October 27, 2012, it took home just a 1 percent share of Web traffic in November and just 1.7 percent in December, according to NetMarketShare.

Usage stats indicate Windows 10's growth is slowing down (still good though)
