Cosby deposition: Quaaludes came from doctor

The city’s Mural Arts Program says the fatherhood-themed mural in North Philadelphia was deteriorating and already scheduled for removal, but spokeswoman Cari Feiler Bender says the date was moved up amid renewed allegations that Cosby drugged and sexually assaulted women.

According to the Washington Post, Cosby made appointments with Amar to obtain seven Quaalude prescriptions under the guise of a “sore back”.

“Did he know when he gave you those prescriptions that you had no intention of taking them?” a lawyer asked.

Jimmie “JJ” Walker, the famous sitcom actor best known for his role on the 1970s comedy “Good Times”, has opened up about his friend and fellow comedian Bill Cosby, saying he thought everybody knew about Cosby’s philandering ways and his affairs with multiple women, TMZ reported.

Amar lost his license to practice medicine in 1979 for “most serious misconduct”.

“I would not doubt in a minute that Amar would sign a prescription to give anybody anything they wanted”. “He was unscrupulous”.

During the deposition, the plaintiff’s attorney claimed that Amar later confronted Cosby about his alleged inappropriate behavior with Tamara Green, an aspiring singer and model to whom Amar had introduced Cosby. Amar was said to have confronted Cosby in Green’s presence, and the two men nearly came to blows, according to the account.

On Fox Wednesday, Pressley said that “Since a thousand pages are out there – which certainly we were not hoping would happen, but now that it is has – we’re asking people to look at it, because what you will find there is that Mr. Cosby denies any criminal wrongdoing”. Instead his attorneys stressed that the formerly beloved entertainer only used Quaaludes for recreational purposes and consensual sex. Calls to a former attorney for Amar were not immediately returned. Amar, who was black, would later tell investigators that he knew he wasn’t fully qualified as a plastic surgeon but felt that “because of his race he did not have an opportunity to obtain a residency in plastic surgery”.

New York medical authorities placed him on three years of probation after Amar pleaded guilty to federal income tax evasion in 1991 for cheating the government out of $76,778.

Amar surrendered his license to Maryland officials in 1994. In 2001, the physician died in Los Angeles. The cemetery is a famed final resting place for many of Hollywood’s biggest stars, including Farrah Fawcett, Dean Martin and Marilyn Monroe.
