Cosby sues accuser Constand, lawyer, mother, National Enquirer publisher over contract
While the documents have been sealed and Cosby’s lawyers are declining to make any comment about what they might contain, the named defendants are all believed to have been subject to confidentiality clauses related to the settlement of lawsuits Ms Constand filed against Cosby and the National Enquirer back in 2005. If convicted, he faces up to 10 years in prison.

Cosby claims that because Constand and her mother are Canadian citizens, they are “outside the jurisdictional reach of the Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, District Attorney”. As part of the investigation, prosecutors interviewed Constand and her mother and obtained files from her lawyer.
In a lawsuit, Bill Cosby accuses former Temple University employee Andrea Constand and those around her of breaching a confidential 2006 settlement. O’Connor wrote, according to BuzzFeed.
It also accuses Ms Constand, 43, and her mother of inviting media coverage and making public statements about the case.
Cosby, in the deposition, said he had a contract with the Enquirer. In return, ‘they would not print the story of – print Beth’s story’.
Cosby, who’s 78, played Dr. Cliff Huxtable on “The Cosby Show” from 1984 to 1992 and has been married for decades.
Bill Cosby’s legal and public-relations strategy took a sharp turn this week with word that he has sued the accuser in a criminal sexual-assault case against him for talking to police.
The charge came 11 years after Bruce Castor, the Montgomery County district attorney at the time, did not file sexual assault charges against Cosby, citing “insufficient credible and admissible evidence”. At that point, she claims Cosby sexually assaulted her.

“On information and belief, the deposition transcript was improperly released because Troiani and Kivitz either instructed the Court Reporter to release it, or knowingly failed to use her best efforts to ensure that her vendors comply with the confidentiality provisions of the 2006 Confidential Settlement Agreement”, states the complaint. Cosby himself sought this hearing to ascertain whether he still had a promise from the previous D.A. that he was immune from being charged over the encounter with Ms. Constand.
