It was confirmed that Arsenal had successfully appealed the red-card, and subsequent three-game ban, handed to Gabriel Paulista, whilst Chelsea’s Diego Costa was slapped with a suspension for his violent actions in the game.

Gabriel was charged with improper conduct and will have until Thursday to appeal his impending ban.
Gabriel lost his cool following a confrontation with Costa, who had earlier pushed Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny in the face and then barged him to the ground.
Both teams were also charged with failing to control their players.
The club are understood to be seething at the decision, especially considering the Gunners’ Gabriel had his three-match suspension for his part in the debacle overturned.
The centre-back was dismissed for kicking out at Chelsea forward Diego Costa during Saturday’s ill-tempered clash at Stamford Bridge.
In the video, they included the 26-year-olds clash with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and his bust-up with Gabriel which was also missed by referee Dean.
Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville has criticised the FA’s decision to give Chelsea striker Diego Costa a three-game ban for what they’ve deemed violent conduct in the match against Arsenal at the weekend.
Chelsea and manager Jose Mourinho expressed their displeasure with the ruling in a statement Tuesday.
The Spanish global had denied the charge, which came after video evidence showed the striker walloping Arsenal’s Laurent Koscielny in the face during Chelsea’s controversial 1-0 win.
Costa, 26, is largely considered the “bad boy” of the Premier League and often uses bullying tactics to get his opponents in trouble.

But in a statement on Twitter on Monday, the 20-year-old Frenchman said: “Sorry for any confusion, English is not my first language and I did not mean to accuse anyone of cheating”.
