Could McIlroy be back sooner than we think?
McIlroy hasn’t made any official announcements about his return yet, but Wednesday he posted another clip of himself putting all of his weight on the injured ankle during a workout.

McIlroy won last year’s PGA Championship by one shot after a final-round shootout that finished in near darkness at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Kentucky.
Question is will it be quick enough?
World number one Rory McIlroy has shared a video of him hitting a drive, increasing speculation that he may return to play in next week’s US PGA.
Tiger Woods’ 2015 season could be over next week unless he performs well at the PGA Championship.
McIlroy was teasingly active on social media, posting images of his blown-up left ankle taken straight after he sustained the injury in that friendly kickabout the week before St Andrews.
The injury came on July 4th while playing soccer with friends.
“I firmly believe, having dealt with injury, and a lot of people hadn’t really talked about this, but it’s a pretty hilly golf course“, said the four-time tour victor, whose nagging back problems forced him into an early retirement.
After dropping hints about his status for the PGA Championship all week, Rory McIlroy seemed to announce his intentions via iPhone emoticons Friday morning.

“I saw that video he posted today and it looks like he is making tremendous progress, so hopefully he is back soon”. In his last start, at the U.S. Open, he tied for ninth.
