A young woman was stabbed to death Friday afternoon in a Bronx neighborhood, and a newborn baby was found alive nearby. Sutton’s boyfriend, and father of the child, Patrick Bradley, was in a state of shock, according to The News, as he frantically tried to see the baby but was denied because of the pending investigation. She was being held on murder, manslaughter and weapons charges.

On Friday night, friends paid tribute to Ms Sutton, saying she had “the sweetest soul”.
City Councilman Andy King, who was briefed on the case by investigators, told The Associated Press that the victim had been strangled then stabbed.
“I am very disturbed”, King said. “This is a horrific incident”.
Wade remained in Jacobi Medical Center Saturday morning undergoing a psychiatric evaluation.
Sutton, who had just graduated from St. John’s with a criminal justice degree, lived with her two sisters as she awaited her infant’s arrival.
Witness Diana Rivera told The NY Daily News that she saw the victim being brought out of the home on a stretcher. Investigators were trying to determine how far along she was in her pregnancy and what touched off the bloody confrontation.
911 dispatchers got a third call soon after, in which a male caller claimed he had just gotten to the apartment with his brother and found the grisly scene. “And then afterward they put her in an ambulance and they went off”, neighbor Vivette Williams said.

Sutton’s family did not comment outside the hospital, according to news reports.
