Countdown to Christmas Lights switch-on
The annual switch-on takes place in the Royal Square in St Helier.

“The light switch-on is a real family occasion and it was great to see so many happy faces”.
Entertainment starts in the city centre from 2pm, with performances from the likes of girl band Stooshe and X Factor singer/songwriter Lucy Spraggan scheduled.
Hundreds of people turned out for the popular event, which saw The Anvil pantomime star Mark Little – best known for playing Joe Mangle in Neighbours – lead the countdown to the switch-on, along with Santa.
Sowerby Bridge will also be hosting the Totally Locally Christmas Market on Saturday, December 6, from 9am-3pm, where there will be an appearance by Father Christmas and his Reindeer – and even a sprinkling of snow.
“The theme is a traditional Christmas, with a focus on the Christmas tree in front of the Town Hall”.
This will be followed by the switch on in Mytholmroyd on Saturday, November 21, as part of the Royd Regeneration Christmas Market from noon-5.30pm in St Michael’s Church Hall and square.
WITH the festive season about to swing into action, a town plans to kick off the celebrations with a Christmas light switch-on.
“I would like to thank the Letchworth Garden City Heritage Foundation for funding and arranging the Christmas lights this year”.
District councillor Alun Davies, who launched the campaign and won support from residents and local firms to raise over £4,000 for new lights, said they would be placed in the second tree shortly.

There will be also festive games, stalls, a fairground ride, and live music in the Parish Hall auto park.
