Country music star ‘at peace’ with hospice care, ovarian cancer
A blog post written by her husband, Rory Feek, states Joey was admitted to a hospital Friday morning, and doctors said her cancer tumors were growing and became inflamed, causing enormous amounts of pain. The Feeks announced last month she had stopped treatment because the disease was spreading so aggressively.

On November 5, 2015, at the request of Rory and Joey’s family, a prayer vigil was held for the country singer in her hometown of Alexandria, Indiana.
“At 4 a.m. on Friday morning we rushed Joey to the hospital in Muncie, (Ind.)” he wrote on his blog, www.thislifeilive.com.
“Her pain had become too much to bear”.
Over the past few days, Joey has spent time most of her time playing with and singing to their young daughter Indiana. He said their eyes lit up the moment they saw each other.
Upon receiving the news that time was all they had left, Joey returned home to live the life she has left with her loved ones by her side. Although the reality of Joey’s condition seems bleak, Rory Feek says he has come to terms with their future.
Aside from Rory’s support, Joey has the love of her 20-month-old daughter Indiana (Indy) to help keep her going. In his most recent post “An Answer to a Prayer”, written on Monday, Rory revealed that Joey had entered hospice treatment. “Afterwards, when Indy got sleepy, Joey held her and sang “In The Garden” and other hymns as she softly stroked her silky-blonde hair”. “Today we are planning to bring her home”.
The Feek’s have been spending this time together as a family.

Rory also shared a photo of his wife reading into a recordable children’s book. “We’ll have a play area on the carpet nearby – close enough for her to watch Indy play, and for Indy to turn and make sure her mama can see her”.
