County Provides Christmas Tree Recycling
For the 29th year, Lincoln will offer the public an opportunity to recycle their holiday trees, which will be accepted from Christmas Day through January 10th at seven sites.

The region’s 14 Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRCs) are operated by Veolia on behalf of Merseyside Recycling and Waste Authority (MRWA). People who recycle their trees are welcome to take free wood chips that will be available at the depots in early January. Volunteers will help prepare trees and wreaths for the chipper, gather mulch for the neighborhood, and spread them on the trees in and around the park.
There will be no fee at the landfill for people recycling only a tree.
In addition to recycling into mulch, Christmas trees can be transformed for myriad others uses, including soil erosion barriers; fish feeders; bird feeders; and paths for hiking trails. Residents and children are welcome to watch the machine in action before claiming their free mulch but are asked to arrive on time in the morning and to bring their own bags and shovels.
