Yet in this touching couple adopts friend’s four daughters story, it was Mrs. Laura Ruffino who said that she pledged to do all she could to help.

“As she started to weaken you can imagine the fears that I had for the girls and being without her”, Ruffino told 7 Eyewitness News.
And Laura Ruffino said the girls, including her 12- and 13-year-old daughters, are “all best friends” and “already sisters”.
A western New York woman fulfilled her best friend’s dying wish by adopting her four daughters after she lost her battle with brain cancer. As Laura’s husband put it, “Ten years ago I didn’t think this would be my life”.
Best friends share everything – and for these two life-long friends in the United States, that includes family.
Thankfully, the Diamond girls have transitioned well into their new life with the Ruffinos. And Ruffino made good on her promise.
‘But if something gets thrown at you, just accept the challenge and do the best you can.’.
You can find the Ruffino-Diamond family’s fundraising page here, where all donations “will be spent on helping this family be able to do what they love: live, laugh, love, and of course pay-it-forward!” And with a bigger group, the family has had to adjust to a bigger kitchen table and a bigger fridge, both of which were donated, and soon, an addition to the house that will add more bedrooms and a place to display Liz’s art work.
Elizabeth Diamond and Laura Ruffino met in fifth grade, and developed a close friendship – which spanned several decades.
Ruffino is the owner of a local hair salon and day spa, and her husband is a technology teacher at a nearby school district, according to LinkedIn.
Growing family… Laura and Rico Ruffino and five of their six daughters.
A fundraising web page has been set up to help the family by the non-profit group Buffalo Wellness Center – of which Elizabeth was a board member.
“She was friends with Laura for many years and I heard only positive things”, Lesniak said.

The page has already raised $6000 with a target of $20,000 in sight.
