According to The Associated Press, authorities say Joshua Aaron Robertson, 27, and Brittany Humphrey, 22, fled the Los Angeles area with three children kidnapped after their mother was killed in a remote area outside Los Angeles on August 14.

Robertson and Humphrey were caught by cops at a motel in Pueblo, around 100 miles south of Denver.

Humphrey is a half-sister to Kimberly Harvill, the woman who was killed. The children have been listed in law enforcement databases as “Missing Persons at Risk”.

The children were found safe on Wednesday in New Mexico.

The couple was wanted in connection with the death of Humphrey’s half-sister, Kimberly Harvill.

“Humphrey and Robertson ‘are still on the run and believed to be eastbound from Albuquerque toward neighboring states”, Alexander said.

Three kidnapped children have been found safe in New Mexico, but their suspects kidnappers are still on the loose.

Harvill and her children, who didn’t have a permanent address, had recently been staying with Humphrey in Lebec, an unincorporated area of Los Angeles County.

She had suffered head wounds and multiple gunshots to the torso.

Her children Joslynn, Brayden and Rylee Watkins – aged two, three and five, respectively – were taken either just before or after her death, cops said. The sheriff’s department said he called police after the couple asked him to watch the children and never returned.

They will be placed in the care of the Department of Children and Family Services once they are returned to California, as their father committed suicide past year.

Harvill’s Facebook page reveals that her husband died in 2015. She was identified four days later. It shows her posing with her fiance, a man who goes by the last name Keithley.

A man and a woman wanted for questioning in the slaying of the woman’s sister and the kidnapping of her three children were arrested Thursday in Colorado, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department officials said.

“Shortly before noon, the Pueblo Police Department was conducting an unassociated investigation at a hotel and that’s when they interviewed Brittany Humphrey”, Lt. Joe Mendoza of the LASD’s Homicide Bureau told The Signal late Thursday afternoon.
