Couple wanted in woman’s killing, kids’ kidnapping arrested in Pueblo

They will be placed in the care of the Department of Children and Family Services once they are returned to California, as their father committed suicide a year ago.

Department spokeswoman Nicole Nishida says the couple was arrested without incident and that a baby with them was safe.

Robertson and Humphrey are wanted on suspicion of kidnapping, and detectives want to question them about Harvill’s death.

Joshua Aaron Robertson, 27, and Brittany Humphrey, 22, are suspected of fatally shooting Kimberly Harvill multiple times before discarding her body in a wooded area outside Los Angeles.

“Humphrey and Robertson ‘are still on the run and believed to be eastbound from Albuquerque toward neighboring states”, Alexander said.

Harvill was found with head trauma and gunshots to the upper body, and police also want to question Robertson and Humphrey about her murder.

Warrants have been issued for Joshua Aaron Robertson, 27, and Brittany Humphrey, 22, the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department said in a news release on August 24.

Humphrey is the childrens’ aunt. Their mother was found dead along a road in rural Los Angeles County earlier this month.

Her children Joslynn, Brayden and Rylee Watkins – aged two, three and five, respectively – were taken either just before or after her death, cops said.

The children were left “in the care of a Good Samaritan” at a hotel on the outskirts of Albuquerque, sheriff’s officials said in a statement.

“You can surmise that we have exhausted some investigative leads and they’ve not been as profitable as we’d like them to be”, Katz said.

They believe Robertson and Humphrey took the kids after killing Harvill. “She don’t know him, anything about his background”, said Bobby Humphrey, Kimberly Harvill and Brittany Humphrey’s father.

The suspects may have family in Nebraska, and have some ties to Kansas, Louisiana and Mississippi, Mendoza said.

Cops consider the kidnapping couple armed and unsafe and believe they might be heading further east. Robertson is on probation for a conviction on illegal weapons charges, court records show.
