Robert Lewis Dear, the man accused in the Colorado Planned Parenthood shooting, had this outburst during a hearing yesterday: “I am guilty, there will be no trial”.
Dear’s act of violence sparked national debate around gun control and abortion.
The Cleveland area Democrat says her bill would also create a way for employees of abortion clinics to sue those who harass or endanger them. “They don’t want the truth out”. On one outburst, a sheriff deputy grabbed Dear by the shoulder and asked him to stop.
A criminal complaint lists 179 felony counts, among them eight counts of first-degree murder, and 131 of attempted first-degree murder.
Looking at King, Dear shouted: “Do you know who this lawyer is?” Dear then exclaimed of King.
Dear flatly rejected a mental exam, calling it an excuse to silence him with psychotropic drugs.
“The defendant is presumed not guilty until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt”, said District Attorney Dan May.
Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards added, “Words matter”.
“Let’s let it all come out!”
Mother-of-two Jennifer Markovsky, 36, Iraq war veteran Ke’Arre Marcell Stewart, 29, and police Officer Garrett Swasey were killed. However, several media outlets, citing law enforcement sources, have reported Dear uttered the phrase “no more baby parts” in statements to investigators following his arrest.
When lawyers spoke about a listing of those wounded in the incident, Dear blurted out, “Could you add the babies that were to be aborted that day?” Dear disrupted the courtroom multiple times, at one point yelling that he was a “warrior for the babies”.
On Thursday’s “St. Louis on the Air”, two guests joined host Don Marsh to discuss Planned Parenthood in the St. Louis region amid recent controversies. “There’s a lot more to this than me to go silently into the grave”, Robert Lewis Dear ranted.
Dear has lived in remote locations without electricity or water and was known to hold survivalist ideas.
As Allahpundit himself might say: Exit question: Have there been any attacks on abortion clinics that were NOT motivated by anti-abortion ideology?

Colorado Springs Mayor John Suthers said the officers’ willingness to immediately confront the shooter helped make possible the rescue of 24 people trapped inside the clinic, along with 300 others who took cover in nearby businesses.
The judge scheduled a status update hearing for December 23.
