The suspension may taint the proud winning legacy of the Patriots in the Brady era. So while this may in fact be the silliest sports scandal of all time, as it nears its conclusion the implications are wide-ranging.

It remains to be seen whether or not Brady will attempt to have his case heard at the highest form of legal power the Supreme Court, but it is certain Brady’s case does not only carry weight towards his imminent future, but also that of his fellow compatriots.
But the reality is that this might be the best time for Brady and the NFLPA to accept that they’re fighting a losing battle and potentially doing more harm than good.

Brady and his legal representatives put this off as long as they could. It was reinstated in April by a 2-1 vote of the appeals court judges. That means it will be extremely hard for the Brady team to argue that this case has influential value in the broader field of labor arbitration – something the Supreme Court will be looking for as it considers a petition for
review. Whatever Brady did or didn’t do, or was or wasn’t aware of, the court has once again made clear that he must serve the suspension imposed by Goodell.
