Court refuses bail to Nigerian separatist for Biafra
There was a mild drama at the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja on Friday as a team of lawyers, numbering about fifteen and working for the Director of Radio Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu withdrew from the ongoing case.

Kanu and two others (David Nwawusi and Benjamin Madubugwu) are being prosecuted on six counts of treasonable felony and unlawful possession of firearms preferred against them by the Federal Government.
The judge said there was a high possibility of Kanu committing the same offence and also jumping bail, owing to his dual citizenship.
Kanu’s lawyer, Mouma, however urged Tsoho to proceed with ruling on the bail application not minding the fact that Udechukwu who argued for the application had withdrawn from the matter.
The Court denied Kanu and his two other co-accused bail.
“The court is therefore, inclined to believing that the applicants are prepared to stir unrest as submitted by the prosecution”.
Their offences bothered on their agitation for secession of the Republic of Biafra from Nigeria.
Tsoho further said that in line with the provisions of Sections 162 and 168 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act (ACJA) applicant for bail shall fulfill some criteria.
Justice Tsoho maintained that the charge against the defendants could attract severe punishment upon conviction. The case was adjourned to February 9.

But Muoma, in order not to stall the ruling, asked Tsoho to rule on the defendant’s bail application even though Udechukwu, who argued it had pulled out.
