“Special Judge OP Saini sent Chhota Rajan to judicial custody till December 3 after the CBI told him he was not required for further police custody”, sources told IANS. A highly placed source in the home department told The Indian Express, “Since Chhota Rajan’s deportation from Indonesia on November 6, it was clear that the CBI would look into the cases related to Rajan”. The court had then extended his custody till November 19 in the case of procurement of a passport on the basis of fake documents.
Agency sources said that CBI has taken over all 71 cases against him and it will start re-registering FIRs in them.
The CBI alleged that Rajan got an Indian Passport, passport no. G9273860, prepared in the fake name of Mohan Kumar, allegedly residing at 107/B, Old MC Road, Azad Nagar, Mandya (Karnataka).
He was taken straight to the CBI headquarters here under tight security.
