On Saturday, Prime Minister Modi said most cow vigilantes were anti-social elements masquerading as gau rakshaka or cow protectors. The MHA said that persons committing crimes in the name of cow protection was not an “acceptable situation”.

He alleged that due to these “dubious” activities of the BJP, India could not become a “Hindu nation”. “With Dalit, the Hindu society can not be imagined”, he said. The links of the Parivar associates with the vigilante groups are well known, however much they are denied.
