But while Prescott has shown big-time flashes of brilliance, the Cowboys tend to struggle without Romo in the lineup.

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones confirmed Romo would stay on the 53-man roster to start the season. It doesn’t hurt that Prescott was one of the league’s biggest surprises in the preseason.
“I don’t want to rule out anything”, Jones said in a radio interview. “He’s been a starting quarterback. No news. So I will go out there and play this week and whatever happens, happens”.

Tony Romo won’t be placed on injured reserve to start the season. “Some of the other things we can do that we don’t have to depend on that experience are there and alive in this team”. He’s started a lot of games.
He missed all but four games last season due to a pair of clavicle injuries. And looking further down the line, Rolando McClain will have little impact at linebacker, Sean Lee is injury-prone and Scandrick is the only reliable cornerback – sorry, but Brandon Carr and Morris Claiborne aren’t exactly spectacular. Seems like if they put him on IR they’ll save themselves from wanting to rush him back, right? That move would have meant the QB would be out until week 9 of the season.

Following their Week 7 bye, they Cowboys got the Eagles in Week 8. And now he’s without Romo again. While AT&T Stadium hasn’t provided an overwhelming home field advantage for the Cowboys, they have been able to come away with a win in both of these meetings with NY. “You can’t flinch in these situations”, he said.
