Cowboys’ Romo unsure about returning this season
Carolina Panthers middle linebacker Luke Kuechly (59) gets help from cornerback Bene’ Benwikere (25) defending against Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Cole Beasley (11) after intercepting a pass from the Cowboys’ Tony Romo that he ran back for a touchdown in the first half of an NFL football game, Thursday, Nov. 26, 2015, in Arlington, Texas.

When quarterback Tony Romo drove Dallas to the Carolina 3-yard line late in the first quarter, he had taken the Cowboys where the Panthers’ past two opponents never went.
The Cowboys lost all seven games that Romo missed with a broken left collarbone before winning in his return at Miami last week.
Romo was placed on IR with designation to return earlier in the season and he returned against the Dolphins, helping the Cowboys snap a seven game losing streak. Romo gave up three first-half interceptions, two of which were returned for touchdowns.
Just one week after returning from an injury he suffered on September 20 against the Philadelphia Eagles, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said a CT scan revealed Friday that Romo has a hairline fracture in his collarbone.
Romo is averaging about $18 million through the life of his contract signed before the season.
But we’re also entering a stage in which we can’t be too sure if Romo will be the same quarterback we’re used to seeing. I knew it would take a little time.
“I have a lot of confidence in myself”, Cassel said, via Charean Williams of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
Newton did his part as well, getting Carolina’s only offensive touchdown on a 4-yard run for a 30-6 lead moments before Romo’s injury.
“I’m just very disappointed in not giving our team the chance to win today”, Romo said, via SportsdayDFW.com. He stayed down on the field after he was sacked by linebacker Thomas Davis. Dallas will likely have to win all of their last five games and hope that the Giants can’t do better than 8-8. The Packers (7-4) lost a second straight home game. “We have to look at ourselves in the mirror”, coach Jason Garrett said of the rest of the season.
The defense was especially dominant in the second quarter when Romo had more interceptions (2) than passing yards (1). His three errant throws led to 17 points, which was enough to win the game without any production from Carolina’s offense. But I think this week and in the past couple, we have really been able to spread ourselves away from the other team and gain a big margin..
MOVING THE CHAINS: Newton had five first-down completions on third-and-5 or longer, and three of them went for 24 yards.

The 45 combined rushing yards are the fewest in a two-game stretch in team history and vaulted the Panthers from eighth to second in the National Football League in rushing defense with 88.7 yards allowed per game.
