Considering how disastrous the Dallas Cowboys’ season went a year ago after Tony Romo went down with an injury, it is understandable that they want to have him for as many games as possible this season. Dallas will likely take this game in stride and likely not send many if any starters out for more than a sequence after the Romo injury.

The initial reported timeframe for Romo to be sidelined was 6-10 weeks, but if placed on injured reserve he would not be eligible to return until Dallas’ game against Cleveland on November 6, placing his current recovery time closer to 8-10 weeks. The timetable is six to 10 weeks, which leaves the Cowboys in a tricky spot. You’ve got to have him through the 53-cut before you put him on designated return, if we wanted to consider that. Right now, they aren’t sure.
