Cowboys’ Williams trolled hard for not going out of bounds

Hogan beat the Cardinals’ rookie cornerback, Brandon Williams, badly on the play.

What were the storylines for the season opener at AT&T Stadium? But the Cowboys must do better than a one-in-three ability to score.

Victor Cruz had already won.

Victor Cruz caught the go-ahead scoring pass from Manning in the fourth quarter of the Giants’ 20-19 victory Sunday, and NY held on in the opener after questionable play-calling contributed to six losses either late in regulation or overtime during a 6-10 season in 2015. NY won 20-19. The Giants primarily used Odell Beckham, Sterling Shepard and Cruz as wideouts. That being said, the unit played pretty well on Sunday as they limited Eli Manning to 207 passing yards and the Giants to only 20 points.

The Giants regained the lead on a run-heavy 54-yard drive that ended with the short touchdown pass to Cruz with 6:13 left. Kicker Randy Bullock then botched the extrapoint.

They didn’t get the ball back until there was 1:05 to play, and couldn’t quite set up the game-winning field goal. This was a critical win.

“Fantastic”, Cruz said. “I mean, to catch a pass in the end zone, in the fourth quarter to put us ahead is always a lovely thing”. However, Williams made a move to gain more yards instead of heading for the sideline.

“I was disappointed near the end that we didn’t get them out”.

“Many observers, me included, feel he was under-utilized”. Any way you slice it, Bryant needs to have the ball in his hands more often if the Cowboys are going to be successful.

Anybody who was anxious about the state of affairs in the Giants backfield had their fears quelled today when Reshad Jennings took a hefty majority of the carries.

“It’s been a long time coming to be able to play with him”.

So Dallas drops to 0-1 on the season, but bigger than that, the Boys are now 1-14 in their last 15 games without Romo. That bodes well down the road for the offense.

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) – The salsa is back, and the New York Giants finally finished when the Dallas Cowboys failed to stop the clock in the final seconds.

Rookie running back Ezekiel Elliott also disappointed in his debut.

Elliott only averaged 2.5 yards-per-carry on Sunday despite running behind the best offensive line in football. The Giants did struggle more with veteran Alfred Morris, who managed 35 yards on seven carries. Two newcomers, Damon Harrison and Olivier Vernon, combined for the team’s two tackles for loss.

“He made some good plays”. The defense limited Dez Bryant to one catch on the afternoon. Maybe it’s too much to ask to have the Prescott-led offense to convert 64.91 percent of their red-zone chances, as they did under Romo in 2014 (and 68.63 percent in 2013), but 33 percent is still shockingly low.

Little did we know that this Romo to Witten connection would prove to be one of the season’s brightest moments, as injuries eventually derailed the Cowboys completely, making their week 1 win just 1 of 4 victories earned in 2015. “Good news/bad news deal here”. Despite getting his first National Football League touchdown, Zeke’s longest run on the day was just eight yards, and he was largely bottled up by the NY defense.
