When Pierre, a married father of three, asked for $190 for the Air Jordan 8 Retro sneakers, Sam allegedly pulled a gun on him inside Pierre’s SUV and demanded the shoes for free. Surveillance video captured Sam getting out the vehicle, and Pierre driving away, but then he made a u-turn and appeared to aim straight at Sam, mowing him down.

Seventeen-year-old Zachary Sam climbed into Phillip’s SUV, and that’s about the time things began to go horribly wrong.
A man has been charged with attempted murder after he ran over a thief and ripped off his arm. Doctors at Bellevue Hospital spent hours trying to reattach his arm, which officers found at the scene, along with his gun.
Sam got out from under the auto, he said, and ran inside a city bus.
But the Friday afternoon transaction turned out wildly different – an alleged armed robbery culminating with the teenage suspect’s arm severed after an SUV ran over him, according to NY police.
Eyewitness Alex St. Fleur, a bus driver who lived across the street from where the botched theft occurred, described the shocking scene to reporters. “I know what the video’s showing-if somebody pulls a gun in your head, and you’re trying to get the cops to catch him, what would you do?” he says. I saw somebody run on the bus with a missing arm’. Instead of offering up the cash, the teen pulled a gun on Pierre and fled with the sneakers.
Sam was charged as an adult with criminal possession of a firearm and second-degree robbery, according to the NYPD. “Two families are destroyed tonight-my cousin, and this kid’s family”, Pierre’s cousin, Michael, told ABC.

Pierre, who was charged with attempted murder, stepped on the gas pedal, but Sam, who lives nearby, jumped out of his auto at the intersection of East 86th Street and Avenue M, sources said.
