Craving ice cream today? Call an Uber

Uber is known for providing one of the best and comfortable transports around the world. “It’s the magic of getting ice cream delivered to your door at the push of a button”. “This year, we chose to take National Ice Cream day to the next level and survey consumers to get an even better idea of how America prefers to enjoy ice cream”.

Other African cities celebrating #UberIceCream are Cairo, Casablanca, Lagos and Cape Town, Durban, Johannesburg and Port Elizabeth in South Africa.

Anyone living in London, Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, Newcastle, Sheffield, Bristol, Home Counties, Nottingham, Portsmouth, Leicester, Edinburgh and Glasgow will be entitled to the free ice cream. Free deliveries are available from 11 a.m.to 3 p.m. National Ice Cream Day actually falls on Sunday. The fifth-annual social is taking place on Saturday, July 16 at the Fort Greene flea and Sunday, July 17 at the DUMBO flea, with seven local producers and more than 30 flavors showcased.

Due to the attack last night in Nice, Italy, however, Uber will not be delivering free ice cream in several cities in France and the U.K. Uber posted an online statement about the decision.

For this weekend only, the Ansel kitchen will be rolling out its latest concoction: the sweet corn ice cream taco.

Uber has also partnered with the Eat My Lunch school programme, where for every one Uber ice cream order placed, one tub will be donated as a back-to-school treat for kids in need.

You get four pops for $10. George Calombaris of Masterchef and Press Club fame has designed a caramel and walnut baklava smash flavour; Aria’s Matt Moran has contributed a banoffee crunch ice cream; while Rockpool’s Neil Perry is peddling a spiced cookie and caramel swirl ice cream. Its Sprinklefest event is offering various discounts on all types of ice cream.

In honor of National Ice Cream Day Uber is celebrating the day by partnering with frozen desserts maker Magnum and will deliver ice cream bars to more than 400 cities in over 69 countries
