Crayola joins adult coloring book craze
The line has a range of coloring options, from nicer 11×17 illustrations by artist Claudia Nice to four different 8×10 color books illustrated by the artists of Hallmark. We won’t even go there.

As Crayola puts it – “Adults Love Coloring Too!”
Basford attributes the success of coloring books among adults to three factors: the ability to get into a “flow” and de-stress, the opportunity to nourish a latent “creative spark” without facing the anxiety of a blank canvas, and finally, the nostalgia factor. “Coloring is a classic, creative activity that provides an escape which transforms black and white pages into works of art”.
Brit + Co received over 1400 design submissions from their community and also extended the invitation through 99designs, the world’s largest online graphic design marketplace, to reach even more designers and creators.
Crayola isn’t the only company creating adult books, though it’s definitely the biggest.

You could just use books meant for children, Winch points out, but drawing in an adult book may be easier to stomach.
Brit + Co. The latest trend in crafting is a throwback to your childhood days.
Dubbed “Pattern Play”, the book will be available exclusively at Target and on Brit + Co starting Tuesday morning.
